Weekly Update 10/4

Hey Everyone!

Sorry my update is late this week! I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend. It finally feels like fall in Tennessee, so I am enjoying every second! We are on the home stretch of class; two weeks to go! This week is a busy week, with several items due to the discussion area and assignments area.

I have graded all of your Training Agreements and I was very impressed. Great job! I will compile a list and post it to the classroom blog so you can see each other’s final draft.

If you need help calculating your final grade or current grade, please email me. I have an Excel document that will help you keep track of your points.

Due Dates for the week:

Tuesday – 10/4
1. Unit 8 Discussion Starts, post Part I to your classroom blog by midnight

Wednesday – 10/5
1. Unit 6 Discussion Ends, post any final comments on the curriculum outline to the Discussion Area by midnight
2. Unit 7 Reports Due to Assignment Area

Thursday – 10/6
1. Unit 9 Discussion Starts, post Part I to your classroom blog by midnight

Saturday – 10/8
1. Final Draft of Curriculum Outline Due to Assignment Area
2. Completed Training Plan Due to Assignment Area; you should have completed a training plan for one student that included BOTH the technical competencies and the employability competencies. Please contact me ASAP if you have any questions on this assignment.

We are on the downhill slide - only three weeks of class left! Last week we had our first Group or Peer Discussion, I hope you gave and received some valuable feedback.

Weekly Update 9/18

Hey Everyone!

We are moving into our fourth week of class and have reached our half way point. Please let me know if you are having any issues with assignments and due dates.

I was impressed with your postings and critiques in Discussion 4. I can see that you understand what is expected of you and you are raising the bar for your classmates. Great job!

This week we have our first Group Discussion. Since there are two of you left, I guess we will have a pair-share peer-edit! The group is available in the discussion area of VISTA. You need to post your Training Agreement document as an attachment to the discussion area by midnight on Thursday, 9/22. You will read, critique and give feedback to each other. The best way to give feedback is to add comments in the word document that was submitted and to repost the document with your comments. (Comments can be found under the insert menu) Your peer-edit needs to be made before Wednesday, 9/28.

This week you should be completing your response/critique to the Unit 4 Blog postings, finishing up your Teacher Interview for Unit 2 and working on the Peer Edit for Unit 5 Training Agreement.

Weekly Update 9/13

Hey Everyone!

I hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend! This is a busy week with several assignments due.

This week you should have finalized the teacher you are going to interview, submit their information and your interview questions. Also due are the Unit 4 – Marketing Assignment, Unit 3 – Blog Responses and Critiques, Unit 4 – Blog Post and the Unit 4 – Student Application. If you want me to look at an assignment before the due date, please email me. I am here to help you!

I know that the Teacher Interview is due after you have already started some of the Unit 4 assignments; I pushed the due date back for the interview because I wanted everyone to have plenty of time to complete the interview. If at any point you feel like the teacher interview could have helped your grade on the Unit 4 assignments, please let me know and we will adjust that accordingly.
